Ten meter preamble/script

Good Evening!  This is (your callsign,  then callsign in standard phonetics).

My name is (first name, then name in standard phonetics)

I am located in (the community where you live).

On behalf of The Milwaukee Radio Amateurs' Club, I would like to welcome you to the MRAC Friday Night ten meter round table net.  Everyone is invited to listen, and licensed amateur radio operators, general class or higher, are encouraged to participate.

During check in periods, please respond with only your callsign in standard phonetics.  Since this is a participatory net everyone who checks in is expected to have traffic.  Traffic for this net means announcements, comments or informal traffic for individuals.  This is also a directed net, which means that all communications are carried out at the direction of this net control station.  There will be at least two opportunities to check-in.  The first opportunity will be at the end of this preamble and the next  opportunity will be at the end of each round of traffic.

For this net there will be a minimum of two rounds of traffic, the first round for initial traffic and the second round for any reaction to the comments made during the first round and any farewells.

I will now begin accepting check-ins at this time.

  1. Keep a log of each check-in

  2. Acknowledge each check-in by callsign and if possible by name.

  3. In check-in sequence call each station and ask for their traffic.

  4. As each station gives their traffic, thank that station and move on to the next.

  5. After every station has given their traffic call for any additional check-ins.

  6. Add to your log of each check-in

  7. In check-in sequence call each new station and ask for their traffic.

  8. As each new station gives their traffic, thank that station and move on to the next.

  9. After every new station has given their traffic call for any additional check-ins.

  10. Return to the top of the log and call every station in sequence asking if the have any final traffic for the net.

  11. As each station gives their traffic thank that station and move on to the next.

  12. After every station has given their traffic call for any additional check-ins.

  13. Allow any new station to pass their traffic.

Is there any final traffic for this net? (pause)  If not, this net is now secured at _____ PM CST(CDT) Thank you all for participating.  There were ____ of us.  This is (callsign), my name is ( your first name). 73 and good night.
