Ok, so you have a nice digital multimeter but wouldn’t it be nice to have the capability to just plug the component into a receptacle and get an immediate reading without having to unbox the DMM and test wires? This Transistor and Component Tester Kit was shown at the recent Members Meeting and the last workshop on test equipment. Since everyone drooled over it, let’s build one for ourselves.
What you’ll need is the transistor tester kit (left) and the clear enclosure (right), both shown below.
Special note: due to reported shipment cancellations by the seller, and reported quality issues with components from those that have received the kits, we have removed ordering information associated with that vendor. There may be other kits available which you are welcome to order instead.
Please bring your soldering kit and basic tools. A soldering station will be provided if you don’t have one. Safety glasses is required. Please reserve your seat for this workshop – 20 maximum attendees. Walk-ins accepted as space allows for club members and their guest.
